A young dwarf ready to step out of the shadows and see the real world in her own perspective to someday become one of the giants. Yes, this is me. A juvenile aspirant to great opportunities that are yet to come.
Born on the 8th of September 16 years ago, I, Michelle Dawn Yap Ramos, was brought up deprived of nothing. My parents, Thomas Lorenz and Susan Ramos, did not just serve as my guide through life and primary supporters but they are my inspiration. I grew nourished with all the love and happiness a child could ever wish for. My sisters, Janne Eloise and April Lorraine, though we fight most of the time, are my lifetime best friends. Though not perfect, I was blessed with the best family one could ever have. And I give them utmost importance as to how I value myself.
A lot of people say that I’m lucky. I may not be the prettiest, smartest nor the richest kid in town, but still, I had my share of these qualities. Physically, you may describe me as a tall, fair skinned, typical gal with slightly blonde hair and hazel eyes, but I say, there’s more to me than meets the eye.
Chiqui- this is what my family and some of my friends call me. Quite far ei?! But this is who I am. I’m a chatterbox- I talk a lot. I speak my mind. But when one needs someone to talk to, I can be his/her listening dummy. I can be a lot of things, even a trustworthy friend and companion. I love to go to places and meet different individuals to interact with. I always have a sunny disposition and brag for fun. My kindness and sincerity sometimes gets shadowed with my other traits but as soon as the sun goes down, one shall see my true goodness. Being approachable and friendly, I have no problem adjusting to different kinds of people though I get shy when dealing with older ones at times. Some might say that I’m strict and snobbish, other crazy, but try to befriend me and you’ll see the difference.
I love purple! It’s my signature color. I also love listening to music- like, who doesn’t?! It’s just that, I don’t have much time to do so since I’m not used to doing stuff with music as a background. I get distracted as times. Know another thing I can’t get enough of?? Food! Eating is one of my major hobbies. I just can’t get enough of it! Bring me to a party and you’ll see me finish a whole mountain of party food. Is this why I’m fat?! Hhhmm… I’m not fond of reading pocket books though I’ve already finished some. It’s not that I’m not interested, it’s just because of my laziness and hectic schedule as well. I enjoy conversation, may it be verbal or though text or chat. Surfing the internet has been in my regular schedule.
Talent?! I’ve got enough. I sing at times- in my room, on the karaoke, in programs (not alone though), with my friends and in family events. My voice isn’t that bad but it’s also not that good. At least I tried! Haha. Apart from that, I can also dance but only when I’m required to. I’m not that well-coordinated. Talk about sports, I’m don’t have an expertise but I am very interested to extreme sports and the not so usual ones like SCUBA diving, and mountain climbing. I have a well-toned voice and good language skills which give me the power of speech. I use this on dealing with a large group of people and on competitions as well. My highest honor won in a contest was when I was hailed 3rd best anchor on radio broadcasting in the
Leadership has always been with me since childhood. Considering that I am the eldest daughter in the family, I was always in-charge. I loved the concept of teamwork and learned its true beauty through the trainings I took part in. My skills were not overlooked as I led a number of organizations or clubs. The contests and gatherings I took part in serve as my venue for camaraderie to my co-students and elders as well. These events give me the courage to speak out and make friends despite our differences. I am somewhat a perfectionist, wanting everything to fall into place as planned. But I don’t get upset if I fail, I just treat these failures as challenges- to do better the next time.
When I was a kid, I loved collecting stickers, ball pens, pencils, stationeries, and a lot of unnecessary stuff. Maybe this is why I grew inclined on journalism since my elementary years. I just can’t get enough of these things!! Words really amaze and give me a sense of mystery. I like playing with them just as how I play with numbers. Though I might not be an expert on language but writing gives me the challenge to explore my thoughts and imagination and reveal my creativity. The words I’ve written have already brought me to places and have given me my highest awards.
Despite all these, I owe my whole being to only one person- The Lord, our creator. For without Him, I am nothing. My whole life and personality is molded by His love and His plans for me. He has made me a concrete and vivid image of imperfection. A normal yet exquisite teenager. I am unique and simply brilliant!
